The original TRESCO owners, way back in 1941, saw a need for top quality architectural and industrial finishes in Northern California. This prompted them to start their own company in San Jose, California, to better satisfy the demands of customers that require only the best coatings products, technologies and services.
Clint Sohrabi, the current owner, President and lead chemist for TRESCO, purchased TRESCO in 1998, but not before he acquired the training, and experience that puts TRESCO at the forefront of the coatings industry.
1982: Clint Sohrabi graduates San Jose State University with a chemistry degree and decides to devote himself to the coatings industry. He was the lead chemist and production supervisor for Hi-Line Paint until 1986. During his time with Hi- Line, Clint developed the first water based rust converter which converts rust into a black plasticized coating that prevents the rust from spreading further.
1986: Clint bought into his first coating company.
1992: moved company to its current modern, high capacity facility at 21595 Curtis St., Hayward, California.
1993: bought out partners and became sole owner.
1998: purchased TRESCO Paint Mfg. Co., from the original owners.
TRESCO Paint Manufacturing Company, Inc. continues to this day to have a commitment to quality, service and innovation guided by a 70 year old philosophy of, “If you are honest, operate with the highest integrity, and always treat everyone fair, you will never lack loyal customers and employees”. This is evident in our production staff where we have several that have been with TRESCO for over 35 years and the average tenure is 25 years.
